The role of PATLIB centres is to provide users  with complex library and information services in the area of patent and tredemark information, searching and methodical services, consultancy in the process of information searching, get copies of patent documents, printing  E- records, etc.  Every  PATLIB centre (beside  the Intellectual Property Ofice of the Slovac Republic - IPO) serves as a Contact and Information Place of the IPO.  In Slovakia there are 5 PATLIB centres in these institutions:

• Intellectual Property Office,  Banská Bystrica
• State Scientific Library, Banská Bystrica
• State Scientific Library, Košice
• Slovak National Library, Martin
• Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information, Bratislava
